Captain Smart’s official name is Blessed Godsbrain Smart. He was born on 5th May1975 in one of the small Villages in the EasternRegion of Ghana.The award-winning broadcaster had both his primary and JHS education in a government school in his town before gaining admission to spam SHS in the Central Region for his secondary education.

His career began at Fox FM in Kumasi, then OTEC FM, Kesewa Radio, and Nhyira FM of the Multimedia Network. He resigned from the Multimedia Network in May 2020 and moved to the Three Angels Broadcasting Network (ABN), owned by business mogul Kwesi Oteng. ABN’s CEO, Samuel Kofi Acheampong, suspended the radio host on his birthday, 5 May 2021, because his work put the company’s founder, Dr Kwesi Oteng, under excess external pressure from the government and the Ghana Revenue Authority. Godsbrain also worked at Adom FM. He created Adom FM’s Fabewoso show and made it one of his trademarks. However, when Chief Jerry Forson (his successor) claimed to be the show’s originator, Captain candidly stopped him from copying and stealing the credit.
Captain Smart from Onua TV is married to Akosua Sikapa Smart. They are blessed with a son named Adomonline, born on 7 August 2019 in the US.

Captain proposed to his wife at the 2018 3G Awards held in the USA. They later held a traditional private wedding in 2019. Captain was previously married to Afia Pokua (alias Vim Lady), a US-based Ghanaian media personality. They ended their relationship over allegations that he snatched the lady from another man from Germany called Johan Aikins-Murphy. Johan Aikins, who later passed away, claimed that Afia was his wife of 18 years. Later, the radio caster came out to clear his name in a Kofi TV interview. He denied having a hand in Murphy’s death and explained that he divorced Afia before his demise because he was tired of their marriage’s controversies.
